Comparison between ContraFlex® and Conventional Method

Contraflex® Conventional
A removable insulation jacket that fits perfectly on the equipment Utilizes intumescent spray

The conventional method is not effective as it is susceptible to its surroundings. Disturbances, such as mechanical vibrations, leads to cracks on the surface which will deteriorate the coatings further. Weather aspects such as humidity and rain will also weaken the coating over time.

Advanced Insulation’s Removable Passive Fire Protection Jacket, Contraflex® is manufactured to minimize water ingress in harsh conditions. Its removable characteristics made it ideal for equipment which requires frequent inspections.

Key Benefits

PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION (PFP) AND INSULATION PROPERTIES

Ideal to be used at congested areas where both PFP and insulation are desired.

HYDROCARBON AND POOL FIRE PROTECTION

Certified as ISO 22899-1:2009 and UL 1709 for protection against jet fire and hydrocarbon pool fire of up to 180 minutes.

EASY TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL

Securements on the jackets (Velcro, lacing wire, straps, bands) makes it easy for removal and reinstallation. Suitable for frequently inspected equipment.

PROTECTION FROM CORROSION UNDER INSULATION (CUI)

Jacket comes with waterproof outer cloth, water shedding and drain plugs to reduce CUI risks.

TIME SAVING

No curing time is required. Prefabricated jacket reduces installation time on site compared to traditional PFP.
